Scottish Medium

Mediumship is the ability to communicate with spirits who have crossed over to the spirit world. When we pass over, a lot of people feel this is the end when in fact this is only the beginning. Our physical body may be gone but our spirit lives on and there is a very fine veil in between our world and the spiritworld.

To understand what mediumship is and how it works, we must first understand a little about who we are, how we are made and how we are able to function as human beings. We are all physical beings, with material bodies, held within that is an energy which animates us and allows us to think, act and react to the world around us.

This energy is known as our spirit. When we “die” it is the physical body that wilts and withers away, not our spirit. Our spirit being pure energy cannot die as energy cannot be destroyed it merely changes form, therefore our life energy/spirit, that part of us that holds all our thoughts, feelings, memories and personality continues to exist albeit in a different non physical way after what we know as “death”.

The purpose of mediumship is to give you proof of your loved ones or friends survival after the death of the physical body

Mediumship can be divided into two types, Mental Mediumship and Physical Mediumship.

Mental Mediumship involves the mediums mind and may be considered fewer than two headings, perception and control.

The perception faculty in mental mediumship includes clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience. The ability to see ,hear and sense spirit .The medium will also experience distinctive smells and were the medium has the sense of taste to receive a message from the communicating spirit.

The medium can use a combination of all or just one of these senses when demonstrating and are used to prove the identity of the communicating spirit people. Trance is another faculty of mental mediumship and falls under the control aspect of mental mediumship were the communicating spirit can control the mediums mind to a degree.

The communicating spirit often steps into the mediums aura and controls the medium and speak directly to a recipient.

Physical Mediumship  was more widely used for and accepted for accepting evidence of survival and the physical senses are used more to get information from spirit.

Almost most or all types of common physical phenomena requires a need for ectoplasm which is taken from the physical medium and has produced materialisation of the discarnate spirit.

There are different forms of physical phenomena, apports, transfiguration and direct voice to name a few. The physical medium would have to sit in deep trance in some cases such as transfiguration and direct voice especially were there is use of ectoplasm which is taken from the medium by the spirit operators.
